African Arithmetic and The Ahmose Papyrus

We recently dropped a video on the Book of Ahmose, which is one of the oldest books ever found on African arithmetic.

The book is over 3,600 years old and is said to contain information from even older texts.

It addresses the subjects of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry in a very applicable manner.

In addition to a section on how to teach fractions using the Eye of Heru, the document also contains a song to help the learner memorize a numeric progression.

A number of concepts from this papyrus can still be found in the math we use today. Check out the video here and share it with someone you know who may appreciate it.
